Paper Birch Counselling is an online practice serving adults based in Ontario, Canada.
In my psychotherapeutic approach and in my life I work to be anti-oppressive aware of my intersecting privileges and marginalities. Having grown up in with a foot in both the conservative Christian world and the queer community I understand nuance and the deep ways our upbringing can impact our current adult experience.
I am currently living in Kathmandu, Nepal while maintaining my registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Due to the difference in time zones, most sessions for those in Ontario fall in the evening in Ontario.
I enjoy working with clients from a variety of backgrounds and who are seeking therapy for a variety of reasons. I have experience and special interest/training in the following areas:
-
trauma, grief, and attachment
-
impacts of working as a humanitarian in aid and development (including those in the missionary field)
-
cross cultural adjustment
-
faith, religion, and spirituality, including religious trauma
-
supporting those from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, including from religious backgrounds.
